Troubleshooting - Motor Doesn't Spin or Spinning Reversed.
You usually want this to be enabled since lowering the throttle to 0% would stop the motors and this results in a fast death roll of the quad. But. Hence change over time. What you're seeing as the motors slowly spin-up is the buildup of that Ki value getting stronger and stronger as flight controller is trying harder and harder to execute a change that it can sense, but can't impact. No props means no force to execute change, hence the windup. This is often referred to as I term windup.
BetaFlight sees motors working, but motors not spinning.
However, I still am unable to spin up the motors both with the transmitter and in the motors tab in Betaflight. The FC has motor resources defined but it still says 0 in all the motor sliders.... I have attached pics of the motor tab in Betaflight and the CLI when I type #resource. Im happy to provide any other needed information. Any help is. For example: If motor 1 is not spin, please follow the below method. Connect motor 1 with ESC 2. Connect Betaflight and plug battery. Click the Motor tab and choose "I understand the risks". Push the throttle of ESC2 about 1000-1200, If motor 1 is spinning, we are afraid the ESC1 is defective.

Betaflight will not arm your quad if your throttle is too high as the motors could suddenly spin up and cause some serious damage to your fingers. So betaflight checks if your throttle is below the value saved in the min_check parameter. By default, this is 1050. You want it in disarm position when you plug in quad and sit it on the ground then use arm switch. So long as you didn't select motor stop option in configuration tab you should see motors spinning at idle once armed. If the motors do not all start at the same time and spin at the same speed, the ESC's are still not properly calibrated. How do you set the direction of the motor in Betaflight? Just for reference, here is how the correct motor order should be: When the quadcopter is facing away from you, The back right motor is motor #1, and should spin clockwise. It is recommended. 2 reasons to have the props spinning when armed: 1. The motors never stop during flight. Much less risk of crashing due to desync on startup when moving the throttle stick to zero during acrobatics. Consider its always armed - make sure no fingers are near and the copter is in a safe position and and blip the throttle. Betaflight - Setup for brushed flight controllers... to make sure min_cmd is not misconfigured set fast_pwm_protocol=OFF #disable oneshot125 feature motor_stop #motors stopped when not armed #this should be adjusted to your motors: set min_throttle 1060 #the throttle when all motors start to spin save #store settings and reboot! Betaflight doesn't arm if your minimum throttle is too high (higher than the setting "Min_Check"). This is a safety feature so that the quad doesn't suddenly spin up the motors and hurt you when it's armed. You must ensure that your throttle is lower than min_check when it's in the lowest stick position.

Betaflight / SPRACINGF3EVO 3.1.5 Feb 7 2017 / 22:31:13 (4646f9d)... mainly due to fact your quad shakes slightly when the motors spin, the sensors pick it up and then the flight controller tries to correct, it can't because you don't have props on.... I armed the quad and all the motors would spin to maximum rpm even though I gave it a little.

All except this power issue was fine. My min throttle was higher and all works. Then I decided to switch to BetaFlight. Flashed and begin to configure all but motors start to spin at 1010 so to arm it properly I had to lower all the values min throttle and min command (you can see that on the video) and then all problems came up. My Babyhawk R Pro has done this twice now - once on Betaflight 3.5.7 and now once on 4.0.4. Both times have been after flying for a bit and then landing (first time) or crashing (second time - after which I set the quad back upright). The quad is sitting on the ground, disarmed, and then the motors and propellers spin up for a second and then quit..
